I am raising the roof!

Yep, I am raising the roof. Well actually three!  I have a spot in mind for my barn quilt so I made three more this week. I have a total of six. Not sure how many more I am going to make, but, boy are they fun! There is still time to play. Just click the link on my side-bar.

Have a wonderful weekend. Do something you love.

A Flimsy!

I know I said I would have the flimsy purple college quilt ready last week. Oh well, I had the best of intentions!
But,  here it is...

I am going to back it with lavender Riley Blake Gingham.

The next young lady likes coral.  I was able to get it all cut.  I hope to get this flimsy done soon.

Happy Sewing!

Just Wondering?

I was just wondering if you reply to your comments?  I know we are all so busy but I try so hard to respond. If they take the time to comment the least I can do is take the time to respond. I find that after leaving comments on some blogs five or six times with no response, I just stop commenting.
Just wondering you thoughts?

College Quilts

Our youngest daughter (we have three) is in her Senior year of High School. College is right around the corner. Of course I will make her a quilt as I did the other two girls. But before I start hers I also like to make some for the girls special friends. This year I will have a few to make so I thought I better get started.
Do you blog hop from the top of your blog? You know where it says "next blog"?  I get a little afraid to do that for more than three or four. Don't ask me why!!
But, I did just that and found this blog with this amazing quilt at

I emailed Diane and asked her about the pattern.
She had made it up!

Well, it just so happens that one of Maggie's friends loves purple.

Here are the colors Maggie and I picked out...

I did get a start on the quilt. Cutting!  I have a very pretty white tone on tone that I am also going to use for this quilt.

I hope to have the flimsy done this weekend.
I love this pattern and Diane's blog is super fun too!
Thanks for your visit!

 Happy sewing!

Over a Year to Finish

I am so excited to share this wall-hanging with you!  It has taken me over a year to finish but I knew I had a deadline. October 2013~
Before I show you, in my last post I encouraged you to join fabric swaps. This is what I do with those charms. I did not buy one piece of fabric for this quilt. I had 10 inch squares of Kona and 5 inch squares of dots and prints.
This is what I was able to make.

It is an Amy Bradley Pattern and can be found HERE.

Here are some close up's of the characters.

I just love how the Bride of Frankenstein is giving him the eye and like all men look at the dopey look on his face!

I even used scraps on the back!

And here she is hanging in her happy spot for the rest of the month.

I'm just saying you might want to rethink those fabric swaps!

Have a wonderful weekend and do something you love.

I just love fabric swaps. Especially charms. For one yard of fabric you receive 56 five inch charms all different in a squishie in your mailbox. I know people have asked me what do you do with those charms? I will show you on Friday.
But for now, head over to Flickr for the

There are plenty of spots open.  Have fun and hope to see you there.
