She’s Here, She’s Here, She’s Here!!!!!!!

Our new baby is finally here! Sophie our new bull dog, now the little sister to Millie arrived at the airport this morning. We were so delighted to see that she arrived not from the cargo hold but from the doggie nanny, that hand carried her on the flight. Here is Sophie, Daddy and the Nanny,

Sophie in the backyard with daddy, you can tell how tiny she is by Dad’s big feet!!

Hi Mom

Boo Hoo

Boo Hoo......School started today, summer is over and I am blue.... Here is a picture of my baby's first day of 7th, yes 7th grade. Not a baby you say, no matter how old they are , they are still my babies.

When she comes home from her first day, there will be a plate of her favorite cookies waiting for her.

It is nice and quite today at home, no Disney channel playing, you would think I would like that, I don't, I am on count down until I get to go and get her.

Speaking of count down by this time tomorrow we will have our new puppy!!! I will of course post pictures, that I hope you will enjoy. Jane

Jonas Brothers...

My two oldest daughters took my 12 year old daughter to see the Jonas Brothers in Concert tonight. They got these tickets in February! It is a beautiful night here in Chicago and I am sure they are having a blast! How lucky to have two older sisters that would do that for her. I am one lucky Mom!!

A lot of work to do.....

Well, the door bell has been ringing everyday this week. I have so many new fabrics; I have run out of space, I am going to give you a look into what work lays ahead for me! To be honest, with school starting next week, I will want to work to keep my mind from missing my baby (7th grade) bopping around. So, here we go…Let’s start with an assortment of fabrics, some new ballerina prints from Avlyn, some new kitchen prints, Salina Yoon Kids Farm

New from P & B, Elanor’s Picnic from Piece O’ Cake Designs

Some very bright and fun prints called Samba from P & B

A few new Christmas prints and Panels

This is a picture of my 1930s fat quarter shelf’s, as you can see they are looking a little empty;

so, I need to cut more; from these

these

and these

This should get me through the first few weeks of school!! Then look for my birthday giveaway to start on September 1st. Off to play Wii, with the family. Jane

Sometimes I think …

One of my most favorite, favorite, favorite, TV shows is The Andy Griffith Show. I would love to live in Mayberry. Have Andy and Barney as friends, hope Aunt Bee would stop by with Opie, so we could talk over coffee and eat her fresh baked pies and the kids could play.

Wouldn’t it be great if you had Dr. Marcus Welby as you doctor? He would come to your home! Find your problem and cure you in a day;

or how about if you just did not feel like cleaning or cooking, Hazel would be there to help with everything!

Or twitch your nose like Samantha in Bewitched and everything would be done in a flash.

Ahhh, now that would be the life, right? Well, almost, I would miss Blogging!!! Jane

Barbie

I thought I would share a little bit about my childhood. I loved Barbie, I was born September 16, 1955 and Barbie was born on March 9th 1959. I got my first Barbie for Christmas 1960.

In those days you would get a little booklet with your doll

and I would spend hours looking and hoping for certain outfits. You had one doll, and the outfits were sold separately.

I then was lucky enough to get Ken, her boyfriend,

Midge her best friend

and Skipper her little sister.

One Christmas I received the whole wedding Party Outfit. It was the best!

I still have my Barbie things and whenever my girls, (27, 24, 12) were sick, they would be allowed to play with my Barbie and clothes. When I was little, I would go to bed and when I would wake up in the morning my Barbie had a new outfit on ,that my Mom had made for me! I know some of the items look old and very well loved and may be worth money, but I would not part with them, not even for a million dollars!! Jane

I was Tagged.....

I was tagged by Merrie from "Where the Blackbirds Sing" stop by her blog and say Hello. It took me a minute to figure out what tagged means; but, I now understand! What fun, I answer some fun questions, and then tag someone else, so here I go...The question was....
"Seven Strange Things About Me"

Hmmmm....
#1 I am the biggest germ freak in the world. I cannot watch the show Monk because it might give me more germ phobias.

#2 Is this strange, I love pink, anything pink, and I will stop anywhere when I see something pink.

#3 I love, love, love, glitter!! (with pink I would go crazy)

#4 I love Barry Manilow. I know, I know, I have seen him in concert several times. Once with a group of friends in Vegas!!

#5 Give me dark chocolate and I will be a friend forever.

#6 I love movies, especially old classics, Mr. Hobbs takes a Vacation, Mr. Smith goes to Washing ton, to all the old Frankenstein, Dracula, to the normal Beaches, Jaws, Jurassic Park, The Mummy, King Kong, It's a wonderful Life. I could go on for hours.

#7 Favorite Holiday, not Christmas but 4th of July, Summer, Hot, Picnics, families, food, games, and it all ends in a bang!!

#8 for fun, your favorite movie line, mine "every time a bell rings an angle gets his wings"

I am off to tag someone, or if you read this post please feel free to post your answers! Have fun, jane
